Treble or Alto
Treble and "alto" refer to the two most common sizes of recorder played by hobbyist musicians, sitting above (treble) and below (alto is another name for the treble in some traditions) the soprano/descant recorder in pitch range. Players choose between them based on the range of the piece and their hand size, since larger recorders require wider finger spacing. Amateur recorder consorts often mix these sizes together to cover a full range of harmony parts.
