Community Standards
Career App exists so real people can manage real careers without being farmed for engagement. These standards protect that.
Effective July 30, 2026
Be a real person (or a real organization)
Accounts represent actual people, and organization pages represent actual organizations. Impersonating someone else, inventing credentials, running fake or duplicate accounts, or claiming an organization you have no genuine connection to isn’t allowed.
Keep your career claims honest
Roles, education, skills, and milestones you post should be true. Recommendations and endorsements should reflect real working experience with the person. Verified signals — confirmed coworkers, org-confirmed hires — are the backbone of this network, and gaming them undermines everyone.
No spam, no unsolicited pitches
Messaging here is consent-based: you can only message people who have agreed to hear from you (connections, or candidates who accepted outreach). Don’t use the feed, comments, recommendations, or any other surface to mass-promote, cold-pitch, or manufacture engagement. Automated posting and scraping of member data are prohibited.
Treat people with respect
No harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual harassment, or targeted abuse. No revealing someone’s private information without their consent. Disagreement about work is fine; attacking people is not. This applies everywhere on Career App — feeds, comments, messages, recommendations, and recruiter outreach.
Employers and recruiters: candidates are people
- Post only genuine, currently open roles, with honest details.
- Respond to applicants. Listings that ignore applicants too long are automatically hidden from new candidates.
- No bait-and-switch listings, fee-charging “opportunities,” or scams.
- Use candidate data only for the hiring process it was shared for — never for marketing, resale, or unrelated contact.
Nothing illegal or dangerous
Don’t use Career App to do anything unlawful: fraud, discrimination in hiring on protected characteristics, phishing, malware distribution, or exploitation of minors. Listings and content must comply with applicable employment and anti-discrimination law.
Reporting and enforcement
If you see something that breaks these standards, use the feedback control on any page or email ben@thegoodapps.co. Depending on severity, we may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, or notify authorities. We aim to be proportionate and to explain decisions where we safely can.
