Guitarrón (Chileno)

The guitarrón chileno is a traditional Chilean folk instrument with 25 or more strings arranged in courses, used almost exclusively to accompany canto a lo poeta and canto a lo divino, the improvised décima-verse singing of Chilean payadores. It is a large, ornately decorated instrument recognized by UNESCO as part of Chile's intangible cultural heritage.
