Octocontra-Alto Clarinet

The octocontra-alto clarinet is an extraordinarily rare and enormous member of the clarinet family, pitched even lower than the contra-alto clarinet, sounding roughly three octaves below the standard soprano clarinet. Only a few have ever been built, chiefly as novelties or for specialized ensembles seeking the deepest possible clarinet timbre.
