Sopranino

Sopranino is a term used for the smallest, highest-pitched member in several instrument families, most commonly referring to instruments pitched above the standard soprano range, such as the sopranino saxophone or sopranino recorder. These instruments produce a piercing, bright tone due to their compact size and are used for specialized high-register parts in ensembles. Musicians and collectors value them for the distinctive timbre they add that a standard soprano instrument cannot reach.
