Sopranino Saxophone

The sopranino saxophone is a small, high-pitched member of the saxophone family, pitched in E-flat a fourth above the standard B-flat soprano saxophone. It has a bright, penetrating tone and is used occasionally in classical saxophone ensembles, contemporary jazz, and some pop recordings for its distinctive shrill sound. Because of its rarity and challenging embouchure demands, it is typically played by saxophonists as a secondary instrument rather than a primary one.
