Baroque Trumpet

The baroque trumpet is a natural (valveless) trumpet built to historical specifications used in 17th- and 18th-century music, relying on the harmonic series and skilled lip control to play melodic lines in the high 'clarino' register. It is used by period-instrument ensembles performing works by composers such as Bach and Handel to recreate authentic Baroque-era timbre.
