Tremolo Harmonica

A tremolo harmonica is a type of diatonic harmonic that has two reeds per note tuned slightly apart in pitch, so that playing a note produces a shimmering, warbling "tremolo" or vibrato-like sound from the beating interference between the reeds. It is especially popular in Asian folk and pop music traditions (notably in China, where it's widely used) as well as in some European folk styles. Its distinctive wavering tone makes it prized by players seeking an emotive, voice-like quality rather than the cleaner sound of a standard blues harp.
