Garklein
The garklein (also called garklein flötlein) is the smallest and highest-pitched member of the recorder family of woodwind instruments, pitched an octave above the soprano recorder. It is used mainly in early music ensembles and Renaissance/Baroque consort playing to add a piercing top voice, and is less common than larger recorders due to its very small finger holes and demanding technique.
