Flamenco Guitar

A guitar style and instrument used to accompany flamenco singing and dance, played with techniques such as rasgueado (rapid strumming with the fingers) and picado (fast single-note runs). The guitars themselves are typically lighter and brighter-sounding than classical guitars, often built with cypress or sycamore, to produce a percussive, cutting tone suited to fast rhythms.
