Account Executive Posted Median Falls to $124,618, Down From $300,000 in the Prior 30 Days | Career App Daily

The posted median for Account Executive roles across the boards we track came in at $124,618 over the last 30 days, against $300,000 in the 30 days before that. That is a drop of $175,382, or 58%, between two consecutive windows.

Both pools are small, and they are not the same size. The recent window rests on 58 postings with a usable pay range; the prior window rested on 110. All figures here are employer-posted salary ranges annualized to USD (hourly rates at 2,080 hours) — not member-reported pay, and not offer data.

Read it as a mix shift, not a pay cut

A 58% move in one month is not what pay does. It is what a changing set of employers does. Two things in the packet argue for that reading.

First, every occupation in our posted-salary movers list fell between the two windows — all eight of them. Director of Sales went from $319,000 to $196,750 (5 postings in each window). Sales Consultant went from $216,000 to $100,000 (5 postings, then 13). Solutions Engineer went from $250,000 to $135,000, with the pool collapsing from 47 postings to 5. Product Designer went $233,000 to $135,000, Network Engineer $275,000 to $192,450, Human Resources Business Partner $187,500 to $105,000, and Human Resources Manager $238,000 to $163,475. When the whole board moves one direction at once, the story is usually the board, not the jobs.

Second, crawl volume between the windows changed enormously. We captured 52,338 new postings in the last 30 days against 4,617 in the prior 30. So the prior-window medians — including that $300,000 Account Executive figure — were computed from a much thinner, narrower slice of employers, while the recent window draws on a far wider sweep. Account Executive is the exception in direction of pool size: it had more priced postings in the thin window (110) than in the wide one (58), which suggests the prior window was concentrated in a handful of high-paying boards.

Where Account Executive sits in the wider pay picture

On the current, larger pool of priced listings, Account Executive shows a median of $210,200 across 168 postings — the fourth-largest priced pool of any occupation we track, and the largest in sales. That number sits well above the two-window swing's low point, which is another reason to treat the $124,618 as a window artifact rather than a new level.

For comparison inside sales on the same basis: Sales Manager posts a $175,000 median on 120 listings, and Sales Representative posts $79,250 on 156. Above sales, Machine Learning Engineer leads at $283,500 (99 listings), followed by Engineering Manager at $280,000 (203), Product Manager at $243,700 (316) and Software Engineer at $240,000 (1,125).

What we cannot say

The packet carries no occupation-level hiring counts this week, so we cannot tell you whether Account Executive postings themselves rose or fell in volume — only how many carried a usable pay range in each window.
