U-Bass

The U-Bass (short for Ukulele Bass) is a short-scale bass instrument, popularized by Kala, that is roughly the size and shape of a baritone ukulele but strung and tuned like a standard bass guitar, using thick rubber or polyurethane strings to produce deep, upright-bass-like tones. Its compact, lightweight design makes it popular with gigging bassists who want portability without sacrificing low-end sound.
