Santoor

The santoor is a trapezoid-shaped hammered dulcimer from South Asia, with dozens of strings struck using a pair of lightweight wooden mallets (mezrab). Traditionally associated with Kashmiri folk and Sufiana music, it was later adapted for Hindustani classical music, notably by musician Shivkumar Sharma, who helped establish it as a solo concert instrument.
