Oboe Da Caccia

The oboe da caccia ("hunting oboe") is a historical curved tenor oboe pitched lower than the oboe d'amore, associated with 18th-century Baroque music, particularly the compositions of J.S. Bach. It has largely been superseded by the English horn but is occasionally revived by early-music specialists and period-instrument ensembles seeking authentic Baroque sound.
