Crwth

The crwth is a bowed string instrument from Wales, a member of the lyre family with a rectangular frame, typically six strings, and a flat bridge, played resting on the shoulder or against the chest. It was historically used to accompany Welsh song and poetry and survives today mainly through folk-music revivalists and historical instrument enthusiasts.
