Minnesota New Postings Rose 50% This Week as the Wider Count Fell
Minnesota logged 177 new roles this week on the employer career sites Career App crawls, up from 118 the week before. That is 59 more roles, a gain of 50%. New roles across every state tracked moved the other way, falling 7.4% to 7,959 from 8,596.

How does Minnesota compare with other states this week?
Minnesota's 50% week-over-week gain is the second largest among the twelve states with the most new roles this week, behind Oregon at 88%. Michigan is third at 41%. Four of the twelve states fell, including California, Texas and New York, the three largest by volume. Those three shed 172 roles between them, more than erasing Minnesota's and Michigan's combined gain of 158.
The comparison counts only boards tracked before the comparison period began, so a newly added board cannot inflate a state's change.
| State | New this week | Prior week | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| California | 716 | 791 | -9.5% |
| Texas | 517 | 540 | -4.3% |

| New York | 392 | 466 | -15.9% |
| Michigan | 339 | 240 | +41.3% |
| Ohio | 276 | 235 | +17.4% |
| Illinois | 223 | 214 | +4.2% |
| North Carolina | 221 | 218 | +1.4% |
| Oregon | 182 | 97 | +87.6% |
| Washington | 182 | 160 | +13.8% |
| Minnesota | 177 | 118 | +50.0% |
| Pennsylvania | 172 | 149 | +15.4% |
Plenty of states outside this list have openings too, so the table is not a map of where the jobs are.

Which employers posted the most new roles this week?
AdventHealth led all employers with 656 new roles this week and 1,001 open listings. Target followed with 279 new and 736 open. JLL posted 240, Accenture 237, and Lifepoint Hospitals 203. Jabil added 195, Circle K 175, Ranger Boats 169, Meijer 167 and Merck 150. These are totals across every board tracked, covering all states, not a Minnesota-only count.
What skills are the week's new listings asking for?
Office software dominates. Microsoft Excel appeared in 83 new listings this week, Microsoft Word in 67 and Microsoft Outlook in 50. Microsoft Office and Data Analysis tied at 32, with Microsoft PowerPoint at 31. Further down, Budget Management shows 25, Case Management 22, Python 16, and Statistical Analysis, Project Management and Crisis Intervention between 14 and 15.
What is the wider hiring picture behind Minnesota's week?
The job search holds 69,145 open listings today from 1,047 employers hiring. Over the last seven days, 15,791 roles opened and 8,363 closed. Closures trail the employer taking a role down by roughly a week, since a board is only re-read on the next crawl. Remote roles made up 3% of new postings.
The 30-day trend runs the same direction as the weekly one: 37,290 new roles in the last 30 days against 42,175 in the 30 before that, down 11.6%. Minnesota's increase sits against that falling backdrop, which is what makes a 59-role gain stand out at this size.
What do employers post for pay?
Engineering Manager carries the highest posted median of the ten occupations measured, at $240,000, across 207 listings. These are pay ranges employers published on their own listings, annualized to USD, and each figure is the median midpoint of the posted range, not a starting salary. Product Manager follows at $215,050 over 317 listings, then Software Engineer at $209,230 over 1,059 listings, the deepest sample of the group. Registered Nurse posts a median of $108,710 across 105 listings, and Sales Representative $62,000 across 131.
Minnesota postings are listed on the Minnesota jobs page, and the day-by-day movement is on US hiring trends.
