Restaurant Manager
A Restaurant Manager runs the daily operations of a dining establishment, overseeing staff management, scheduling, and training for servers, cooks, and hosts while ensuring strong customer service. They handle inventory management and budgeting to control food costs and labor spend, and rely on POS systems to track sales and manage transactions. This hands-on role requires being present on the floor during service and reports to an owner, general manager, or regional operations director.
Duties & responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations and maintain service standards across front and back of house
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise restaurant staff including servers, cooks, and hosts
- Manage inventory, food costs, and labor budgets to control expenses
- Use POS systems to track sales, process transactions, and analyze business performance
