Corporate Development Manager
A Corporate Development Manager leads a company's growth initiatives that fall outside its core day-to-day operations, primarily mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. They build financial models to value targets, run due diligence workstreams, and lead deal negotiation alongside legal and finance teams, then translate approved deals into integration plans tied to broader strategic planning. This role typically reports into a VP of Corporate Development or CFO and is held by someone with an investment banking, private equity, or management consulting background who is comfortable moving between high-level M&A strategy and detailed transaction execution.
Duties & responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate acquisition, investment, and partnership targets aligned with company strategy
- Build financial models to value potential targets and assess deal economics
- Lead due diligence workstreams across technical, financial, and operational dimensions
- Negotiate deal terms and structure alongside legal, finance, and executive teams
- Plan and oversee post-acquisition integration to realize strategic value from closed deals
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties throughout deal cycles
- Conduct market analysis and competitive assessment to identify growth opportunities
