Tambourine

The tambourine is a percussion instrument consisting of a circular frame, often with pairs of small metal jingles ('zils') mounted in its sides, sometimes paired with a drumhead. Players shake it, strike it against the hand or hip, or tap the head to produce rhythmic jingling and beats, and it's widely used in folk, pop, orchestral, and religious music.
