Soprillo
The soprillo, also known as the sopranissimo or piccolo saxophone, is the smallest and highest-pitched saxophone ever produced, pitched an octave above the soprano saxophone, invented by German instrument maker Benedikt Eppelsheim in the early 2000s. Its tiny, tightly coiled body and extremely high range make it one of the rarest orchestral woodwinds, used by only a handful of specialist saxophonists worldwide. It is prized by collectors and experimental musicians for pushing the saxophone family's upper pitch limits.
