C Soprano Saxophone

The C soprano saxophone is an uncommon variant of the soprano saxophone pitched in C instead of the standard B-flat, allowing it to be played from piano or vocal sheet music without transposition. Like the C melody saxophone, it was manufactured and marketed mainly in the early 20th century for amateur home musicians, but it never achieved the popularity of the B-flat soprano and is now a rare collector's or specialty instrument.
