Sheng

The sheng is a Chinese free-reed mouth organ consisting of vertical bamboo or metal pipes set in a wind chamber, capable of playing sustained chords as well as melody. It has been used for over 3,000 years in Chinese court and folk music and remains a staple of traditional Chinese orchestras, prized for its harmonica-like ability to sound multiple notes simultaneously.
