Scottish Backhold

Scottish backhold is a traditional style of wrestling native to Scotland in which the two competitors grip each other around the body before the bout begins, chin over the opponent's right shoulder, and are not permitted to break this hold until one is thrown. It is a featured event at Highland games gatherings and is considered one of the oldest forms of organized wrestling in the British Isles. Wins are typically decided when any part of a competitor's body other than the feet touches the ground.
