Devon Wrestling

Devon wrestling is a traditional English folk-wrestling style historically practiced in the county of Devon, closely related to Cornish wrestling, in which competitors wear jackets that opponents grip to attempt throws, with points scored for controlled falls onto the back. It was especially popular in the 18th and 19th centuries at rural fairs and festivals. It survives today mainly through heritage and folk-sport revival efforts aimed at preserving traditional regional wrestling styles.
