Para Taekwondo

Para taekwondo is a Paralympic combat sport for athletes with upper-limb impairments, contested in the kyorugi (sparring) discipline where competitors score points by landing kicks and, in some classes, punches to the torso and head, wearing protective gear and electronic scoring sensors. It made its Paralympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games. Practitioners are drawn to it for the discipline, agility, and striking technique it shares with Olympic taekwondo, adapted to accommodate limb differences.
