Hojōjutsu

A traditional Japanese martial art focused on restraining and binding a captive or opponent using cord or rope, developed by samurai-era warriors and later used by law enforcement (as torinawa) to arrest suspects without lethal force. Techniques emphasize decorative yet functional knots that immobilize a person while signaling their status or crime.
