Shootfighting

Shootfighting is a full-contact combat sport that blends striking techniques with grappling and submission holds, developed in Japan in the 1980s and popularized in the United States by fighters such as Bart Vale. It served as one of several precursors to modern mixed martial arts by testing which techniques from different disciplines were effective in realistic, live competition.
