High School Fencing

High school fencing is a scholastic version of the Olympic combat sport in which student athletes compete in foil, epee, and/or sabre, scoring touches on an opponent with a thrusting or slashing blade. School and club teams compete in dual meets and tournaments, often organized through bodies like USA Fencing, and the sport is often a stepping stone to college fencing programs. It appeals to students who want an individual sport combining quick reflexes, strategy, and discipline.
