Yağlı Güreş

Yağlı Güreş, or Turkish oil wrestling, is Turkey's national sport in which wrestlers coat their bodies in olive oil and compete wearing leather trousers called kısbet, trying to pin or control an opponent. The most famous tournament, the Kirkpinar, has been held annually since the 14th century, and the sport is cherished as a link to Ottoman and folk tradition.
