Alysh

Alysh is a traditional form of folk wrestling practiced in Kyrgyzstan and other parts of Central Asia, involving grappling techniques aimed at throwing an opponent to the ground while adhering to regional rules on holds and grips. It is performed at festivals, weddings, and national celebrations as a display of strength and skill, and has been promoted internationally as part of efforts to preserve Central Asian traditional sports. It shares similarities with other regional belt-wrestling styles found across the Turkic and Mongolic world.
