Triangle

The triangle is a percussion instrument made from a steel or metal rod bent into a triangular shape, left open at one corner, and struck with a small metal beater to produce a bright, ringing sound. It's used in orchestras, marching bands, and folk ensembles to add sparkling accents, and is often one of the first instruments taught to young music students because of its simple technique. Despite its simplicity, skilled players use damping and beater placement to vary tone and rhythm.
