Speed Skating

Speed skating is a competitive winter sport in which skaters race each other or the clock around an oval ice track, wearing long-bladed skates designed for maximum glide efficiency. It comes in two Olympic disciplines, long track (skaters race in pairs against the clock on a 400m track) and short track (multiple skaters race head-to-head on a smaller indoor rink), and draws enthusiasts who enjoy the blend of raw speed, technique, and endurance.
