Single skating is the discipline of figure skating performed by one skater at a time (as opposed to pairs or ice dance), featuring jumps, spins, footwork sequences, and choreography set to music. It is contested separately for men and women at events like the Olympics and World Championships and is the most widely practiced form of competitive figure skating.
