Para-Cycling

Para-cycling is competitive cycling for athletes with physical or visual impairments, contested on standard bicycles, tandems (for visually impaired riders paired with sighted pilots), handcycles (pedaled by arm power), or tricycles, across track and road disciplines. Classification categories group riders by impairment and equipment type to ensure equitable racing. It has been part of the Paralympic Games since 1984 and draws competitors for the endurance, speed, and tactical racing shared with able-bodied cycling.
