Track Cycling

Track cycling is a cycling discipline contested on velodromes, banked oval tracks usually built of wood or concrete, using fixed-gear bikes without brakes. Events include sprint, individual and team pursuit, keirin, and madison races, and it has been part of the Olympic program since the first modern Games in 1896.
