Para-Alpine Skiing
Para-alpine skiing is a Paralympic winter sport in which athletes with visual or physical impairments race downhill on skis across disciplines including downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and super combined. Competitors use adaptive equipment such as sit-skis (mono-skis) for those with lower-limb impairments, outriggers for balance, or guides skiing ahead of visually impaired athletes who communicate directions via radio. It has been a Paralympic staple since 1976 and attracts athletes for the speed and technical skill it demands on challenging alpine terrain.
