Para Biathlon

Para biathlon is a winter Paralympic sport that combines cross-country skiing (using sit-skis or standing skis depending on impairment) with rifle shooting at a target, mirroring able-bodied biathlon but adapted for athletes with visual, physical, or intellectual impairments. Visually impaired competitors shoot using rifles fitted with an acoustic aiming device that emits tones indicating proximity to the target. Athletes are drawn to it for the demanding combination of aerobic endurance and precision marksmanship under physical fatigue.
