Jitterbug
The jitterbug is an energetic American swing dance that emerged in the 1930s and 1940s alongside big band and swing jazz music, characterized by fast footwork, spins, and athletic aerial moves performed with a partner. It is closely related to the Lindy Hop and helped popularize swing dancing across dance halls in the United States and beyond. Modern swing dance enthusiasts still learn and perform the jitterbug at social dances and retro-themed events.
