Nine-String Guitar

A nine-string guitar is an extended-range guitar with nine strings instead of the standard six, usually adding lower bass strings to expand the instrument's range for heavier or more harmonically complex music. It is used by some progressive metal and experimental musicians who want extra low-end tones without switching to a separate bass instrument. Because of the added strings and often wider neck, it requires adapted playing technique compared to a standard guitar.
