Resophonic Guitar

A resophonic guitar (commonly known by the brand name Dobro or generically as a resonator guitar) is a guitar that produces sound through one or more metal cones (resonators) inside the body instead of relying solely on a wooden soundboard, giving it a louder, distinctive metallic, twangy tone. It is widely used in bluegrass, blues, and country music, often played with a slide while resting flat on the player's lap (lap-style) or upright. Musicians favor it for its projection and unique timbre, especially before amplification was widespread.
