Clarsach

The clarsach is the traditional Gaelic harp of Scotland and Ireland, a small, wire- or gut-strung lap or floor harp with a long history in Celtic musical tradition dating back over a thousand years. It nearly died out but was revived in the 20th century and is now central to Scottish and Irish folk music performance and competitions. Players are drawn to its portability, distinctive bright timbre, and deep connection to Celtic cultural heritage.
