Software Architect
A Software Architect defines the high-level technical structure of software systems, making decisions on system design, cloud architecture (AWS/Azure), and microservices to ensure scalability and maintainability. They establish API design standards and apply proven software design patterns, guiding development teams on best practices without necessarily writing production code daily. Typically a senior technical role, it is held by experienced engineers who can balance long-term technical vision with practical delivery constraints.
Duties & responsibilities
- Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices to guide development teams across projects
- Design scalable, secure system solutions that balance technical vision with business requirements and operational constraints
- Lead architectural decisions across multiple technical domains, translating product and business needs into technical strategy
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on architectural principles, design decisions, and implementation approaches
