Thundertube (Spring Drum)

The thundertube, also called a spring drum, is a percussion instrument consisting of a cylindrical tube (traditionally cardboard or plastic) with a membrane stretched across one end and a coiled metal spring attached to its center. Shaking or flicking the spring causes vibrations that resonate through the tube, producing a rumbling thunder-like sound used in music, sound effects, and theatrical productions.
