Surface Finswimming
Surface finswimming is a competitive swimming discipline in which athletes wear a monofin or bifins and swim along the water's surface (often using a snorkel) rather than submerged. It is one of the recognized events under CMAS (the World Underwater Federation) finswimming rules, contested over sprint and distance pool races, and prized for the speed the fin's propulsion allows compared to unaided swimming.
