Freestyle Swimming

Freestyle swimming, most commonly performed as the front crawl, is a swimming stroke and competitive event category in which swimmers may use any stroke technique, though nearly all choose the front crawl for its speed and efficiency. It involves alternating overarm strokes combined with a flutter kick and rhythmic breathing to the side, and is the fastest of the four competitive swimming strokes. It is featured in swimming competitions at every level, from recreational lap swimming to the Olympics.
