Sōjutsu

Sōjutsu is the traditional Japanese martial art of fighting with the yari, or spear, developed by samurai and foot soldiers during Japan's feudal era. Practitioners train in thrusting, sweeping, and parrying techniques, often using a wooden version of the spear (a rendered gun or bo) for kata and partner drills. It is preserved today mainly through koryu (classical) schools such as Owari Kan-ryū, appealing to martial arts enthusiasts interested in historical weapon combat.
