Taidō

Taidō is a modern Japanese martial art created in the mid-20th century by Seiken Shukumine, distinguished by its use of three-dimensional body movement, including jumps, spins, and inversions, unlike the more linear stances of traditional karate from which it evolved. It is practiced both as a self-defense system and as a competitive sport with sparring and set-form (hokei) events.
