Para Surfing

Para surfing is an adaptive form of surfing for athletes with physical or visual impairments, who ride waves standing, kneeling, prone, or seated depending on their classification, sometimes with assistance from helpers who push them into waves. Competitions are judged on wave selection, maneuvers, and style similar to able-bodied surfing, with divisions organized by impairment type and severity. It has grown through organizations like the International Surfing Association and appeals to participants for the sense of freedom, ocean connection, and adrenaline it offers regardless of physical limitation.
