Canoe Slalom

Canoe slalom is a competitive paddling discipline in which athletes navigate a whitewater course, steering their canoe or kayak through a series of hanging gates in a specified order and direction, incurring time penalties for touching or missing gates. It requires precise boat control, reading fast-moving water, and split-second decision-making, and has been part of the Summer Olympics since 1972 (with some gaps). Competitors race individually against the clock rather than head-to-head.
