Orchestral Harmonica

A category of large chromatic and chord harmonicas designed for ensemble playing, including bass harmonicas, chord harmonicas, and polyphonias, used in harmonica orchestras to reproduce full orchestral arrangements. This tradition is especially strong in Germany and Japan, where harmonica orchestras perform classical and popular repertoire using sections that mimic strings, brass, and bass.
